These are the heads we use when going after big horsepower on our billet BBC builds. Brodix BB-3 cylinder heads boast a 24 degree valve angle. The version we use for our billet BBC builds features the optional:
Solid Casting: paired with dry billet blocks for maximum strength. Note: standard water cooled heads are also available. The ports, chambers and flow airflow will be identical.
HIP Processing: This post-casting process greatly improves the strength of an aluminum casting. For more on HIP process, click BUY NOW for a video explanation given by the owner of All Pro Cylinder Heads.
AMPCO 45 Valve Seats: This aluminum-bronze alloy provides exceptional reliability and durability. As a valve seat, it provides superior heat transfer without the toxcicity of beryllium-copper.
We purchase Brodix's rough porter castings for finish machining on our CNCs (see this ad's video). The designs we impart on our 5-axis CNC are proprietary and will not be the same as anyone else's. As engine builders, our porting designs may be different than head porters chasing high flow numbers at peak lift. We focus on average flow airflow from 0 to peak lift as we find that correlates better with dyno and track results. We are also conservative about removing excessive material such as around the guides so as not to compromise the heads integrity and longevity. After coming off the 5-axis, our Newen CNC seat & guide machine performs the valve job and bowl blending in a single operation (see video down below).
The standard hardware used in the assembled heads are Brodix titanium intake and Inconel exhaust valves with a PAC spring kit.
