INTRODUCTION: A reported $250,000 invested in this incredible build, with only 340 miles since completion! With an entirely new, highly upgraded chassis, the handling and performance are night and day compared to the original. A GM LS7 crate motor backed by a 6-speed transmission delivers plenty of thrills when you're in the mood for excitement. And when you just feel like cruising, modern comforts like air conditioning, power windows, and a stereo make every mile a pleasure. It's the best of both worlds- classic looks with modern performance, handling, and comfort!
EXTERIOR: The body was stripped down to a bare shell, mounted on a rotisserie, and meticulously restored from every angle. The result is an arrow straight, rust free, damage free body with excellent panel gaps. It's finished in stunning Electric Blue Metallic, applied evenly and polished to a smooth, mirror like gloss. All the chrome has either been replaced or restored to a brilliant shine. The SS trim features distinctive machine turned inserts along the sides and across the tail panel. I especially love the dual rear antennas! All the weatherstripping has been replaced. The upgraded chassis gives it a fantastic stance, and someone absolutely nailed the wheel selection! It's sitting on 18-inch Rocket wheels, extra wide in back, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport performance tires.
INTERIOR: Completely refinished with a great combination of classic styling and modern comforts! Down on the floor is fresh blue carpet. A pair of firm, supportive sport bucket seats feature headrests and reclining backs. The rear seat is upholstered to match, as are the door panels, armrests, and custom center console. The headliner and visors have been replaced as well.
The dash features the optional padded top and a full set of custom Dakota Digital VHX gauges. All the interior metal trim has been neatly painted. It has a tilt steering column with a leather wrapped, cushioned grip steering wheel. Modern conveniences include power windows, a retro style stereo with kick panel speakers, and 6x9 speakers in the rear. The custom upholstered center console includes convenient cup holders, but the best part is that 6-speed shifter sticking out of it! A complete set of new seat belts has been installed, and the interior lights work. It's a beautifully finished interior that retains the nostalgic appeal of a '64 Impala while adding the comfort, convenience, and excitement of a modern performance car!
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: We have the receipt for the GM Performance LS7 7.0-liter crate engine! This all aluminum powerhouse delivers 505 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. It has the legendary 427 cubic inches of big block grunt in a lightweight, modern small block package! This is no ordinary LS engine. It features a forged crankshaft, titanium connecting rods, a roller cam, CNC-ported aluminum heads, and a high volume intake.
It's dressed to impress with a polished cold air intake, stainless long tube headers, and a modern serpentine belt system. It also features a substantial Moroso dry-sump oiling system and catch can setup. Modern conveniences include air conditioning, power steering, and a CPP Hydro-Boost power brake system with stainless braided lines. The supporting components are just as impressive. It has an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans and an overflow bottle, an upgraded Newport Engineering wiper motor, and all new wiring. The entire engine bay is beautifully finished in the same gorgeous blue as the exterior. This engine compartment looks every bit as good as the car performs!
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Finished beautifully to match the rest of the car! Under the trunk lid and throughout the jamb is the same slick blue paint as the exterior. The weatherstrip has been replaced. Inside has been custom boxed and fully carpeted for a clean, tailored appearance. Behind the forward panel is the jack and spare assembly, while the floor panel lifts up to reveal additional storage space. An Optima battery has been relocated to the trunk, secured with a billet hold down and equipped with a master disconnect switch.
UNDERSIDE: The factory X-frame is gone, replaced with a complete Schwartz Engineering G-Machine chassis that alone cost $21,000! This is a tremendous upgrade, providing far greater rigidity, eliminating much of the body twist, dramatically improving handling, and allowing room for a custom exhaust and one piece driveshaft. Up front is a tubular crossmember, tubular control arms, a splined sway bar, adjustable coilover gas shocks, and a Flaming River quick ratio power rack-and-pinion steering system. In back is a four link suspension with tubular control arms and adjustable coilover gas shocks. It has Wilwood drilled and slotted disc brakes at all four wheels, with six-piston calipers up front, along with a functional e-brake. The entire chassis has a smooth, semi-gloss powder coated finish. A custom stainless steel dual exhaust features MagnaFlow mufflers. The fuel system includes a Rick's stainless steel tank designed for fuel injection. Everything is new throughout, right down to the brake lines, fuel lines, and hardware. Looking up at the motor, everything still looks new, including a high torque starter and heavy duty bellhousing. A Tremec Magnum 6-speed transmission sends power through a custom driveshaft to a Moser full floating 9-inch rear end with a Truetrac differential, 3.89 gears, and 31-spline axles. The floors are pristine metal, finished in the same gorgeous blue as the body. Underneath this Impala is every bit as impressive as what's on top! It's a remarkable transformation, both cosmetically and functionally. This isn't just a restored 1964 Impala; it's a thoroughly engineered modern performance machine wrapped in iconic 1960s styling.
