Buick Nascar Stage II V-6 274 cu in “Even Fire” - Engine (Originally 252 cu. In. from Buick factory in 1985).
This engine was specifically built for and used exclusively in a high-performance sand rail.
It is used, but it was in very good condition when I retired the “old school” short travel sand rail I originally installed it in. It was always my plan to install it in a modern “long travel” sand rail, but I never got around to doing so. It was thoroughly wrapped in plastic and has been stored in my garage ever since.
This engine is equipped with the following:
• Buick Stage II cast iron block - casting # 25500016, with cylinders Bored to 4.05”;
• Scat - Forged steel racing Crankshaft – 3.625” stroke (0.225” longer than stock Buick 252 cu.in. V6 crank stroke);
• Oliver 6.5” hi performance Connecting Rods;
• Crane 818101 Roller Camshaft
• Oversized oil pan;
• Buick Stage II Aluminum heads (factory casting # 25500031) machined to accept Loc Wire head gasket rings. Equipped with aluminum, roller tip, 1.64 rocker arms & Manley intake and exhaust valves;
• Edelbrock “Victor Stage II V6” Aluminum intake manifold (Buick factory provided)
• Barry Grant Holly (#4150) 650 cfm 4 bbl carburetor;
• NOS nitrous oxide system (excluding NOS bottle);
• MSD high performance distributor;
• MSD 6AL Capacitive Discharge Ignition system;
• MSD 8970 3 Stage Retard Control (for when NOS system activated)
• Melling high performance oil pump;
