OK-

Heres the deal Chuck- you brokered the deal you are a party in interest and thus are potentially liable.

I had a similar situation- buyer was unhappy and made claims against the seller and I who had listed the car for him on Ebay, or brokered it. I spoke to an attorney who confirmed that I had joint liability.

It turns out the complaint was a ploy by the buyer to try and obtain some cash concessions. Since he was an attorney, and my documentation was comprehensive, and my research determined that he had tried this ploy before- the documentation and my promise to call the State BAR put the situation to bed.

However it did not negate the fact that if you broker the deal you are partially liable.

If you dont believe me, pick up the phone and contact an attorney- He will confirm.

Remember brokering a car can mean and include, advertising, representations and other provided information.

With that said, the ad did not suggest that it was a bad truck- It would help if you had some witnesses to whatever you said to describe it, as well as any paper documentation. If you take any verbal statements have them notarized.

Best piece of advice; do not broker vehicles it will cause you nothing but a headache.

The plot thickens...

Chuck: Good luck with this. tough deal... I think being a real PIMP would be easier than brokering a trade/cash race car with motor issues & 20lbs of oil pressure as a third party, but feel free to call me crazy.

Well, I had 2 DOGS try to stop me once while I was in a bar-fight w/ a couple of bar-flies... that was ugly one. Like you, I was pretty embarrassed too.
