My guess is he's NEVER been down a dragstrip. Seems like everyone who has a street car that hasn't been to the track has a 10 sec car.......they just don't realize how fast a 10 sec car really is.
Before I started racing, I had a 67 Vette, 427 4-speed, and I knew it HAD to be a 10 sec car........yea right!! High 12's, low 13's....maybe....but nowhere near 10's and it was a pretty fast car.

I think he's full of it about it being a 10 sec car, but it's not bad looking and not a real bad buy. Of course I would offer him less that $4,400, but he's not far off what it looks like it's worth. However, knowing he's lying about being a 10 sec car he's probably not telling the truth about only 12k miles on the motor. For sure it would give me second thoughts about buying it from him. JMO, but he could keep that little pesky SB anyway :P Racing starts at 632! :lol:

Maybe he went out on the highway and marked off a quarter mile, then went back and ran it and timed himself...driving down the quarter saying "One MISSISSIPPI two MISSISSIPPI three MISSISSIPPI"
