The name I was looking for was the name of the original company not of the jeep protoype.


American Austin Car Company

Their 1932 Bantam is what some of today's altereds are based upon.

This generation is noted for the durability of the body panels as Ford used extensive amounts of galvanized sheet metal to fight corrosion. 1977 was the first year for smaller cowl insignias moved near the windshield

the high boy had a divorced transfer case and a regular one had a transfer case bolted to tranny ...the high boy had wider springs
