Chevy 12 bolt....refilling with gear lube
I recently changed gears in my Chevy 12 bolt with Mosier axles, and had to refill the rear end with gear oil. I used 90 weight....about 2 quarts. Now one of the axle seals leaks. I never had any indication of this before....I pulled the axle out, inspected the seal, and it looks fine. Is it possible I overfilled the rear end, and caused this problem? The car has not been driven throughout this whole procedure. It's not that I'm too cheap to buy new axle seals.....I'm having a hard time identifying and finding the right seals. Any suggestions?
