Jeff, just to answer your original question. Yes those floats sometimes can get soaked with fuel. Take them out when they have been sitting in a full fuel bowl and weigh them comparing to the weight of a new one to see if they have gone bad. Unfortunately you have to buy a new one to get the weight in the first place unless you can borrow a new one.
