I think that since you are only loaning this engine & unless your friend is intending to build a duplicate of what you are lending him,why would you invest any cash into tempory cams when you can use what you already have? Yes,you will not have optimised the engines HP,but,there are many places in a car where you tune,& that can keep you busy while you build the engine that will finally go in it(even a little sooner with the savings made by using mostly suitable parts that you already have).Good luck.
