COULD BE...but how does the tire being taller add more stress to the center? Obviously the big tires weigh more on a scale but I don't see how it would effect a wheel center...unless like you said to prevent big trucks from using them. I know a guy with 32 x 14's on a set of convo pros...and there are probably more WELD Draglites out there on bracket cars than any other wheel probably.
I know a guy with a tube frame Beretta that runs 5.30's that broke a Bogart wheel. Busted the center right out of it when he launched. It didn't tear up the car but he said first thing he thought was broken axle...he was very lucky he didn't crash or rip the side off of the car.
