Take most everything that Don wrote and take it to the bank. All true and good info. Except maybe the part about the EFI. Of course he said FI didn't he.

He said too much fuel or too late of timing. Meaning timing retarded too far. He said the red glow is fuel burning in the header. All true.

Tell me what else can cause the header to turn red?

At least with copper. I re-use copper head gaskets a very long time. Be sure to match them up to the way they came off when you clean them and put them back. I have re-used a Fel Pro Blue Gasket one time in an emergency but for only one race and then I re-placed them with new. Maybe I wasted time and money.
