HI, I HAD A SIMALER PROBLEM WITH A $900 DOLLOR TCI CONVERTER IN MY RACE CAR. THE CAR WAS A TENTH AND A HALF OFF RUN TO RUN AND I WAS RUNING 10.80S - 10.90S AT 124. (70 CHEVELLE, BACK 1/2 CAR, 5:14, 14X32X15, PG W/BRAKE, 2800 WET WITH A 355 ROLLER). 5 TIMES THE CONVERTER WENT BACK TO TCI, IT WAS ALWAYS THE SAME THING NOT AS FAST AS IT SHOULD BE AND VERY INCONSITENT. I WENT TO CARL AT COMPITITION TRANNSMISSIONS IN BUFFALO YOU CAN GO TO THERE WEB SITE. HE OPENED IT UP AND FOUND THE STATOR WAS MILLED ALL FUNKY AND TOOK THE TIME TO SHOW ME THE PROBLEMS WITH IT. DID YOU KNOW THAT THERE 8"(TCI) CONVERTERS ARE SATURIN UNITS? ANYWAYS HE RE MILLED THE STATOR AND PUT A NEW SPRAG AND CHANGED THE FIN ANGLE SLIGHTLY DUE TO MY HEAD ARE TO BIG FOR A 355, (DART IRON EAGLE 215) NOW THE CAR IS RUNING CONSISTENTLY 10.58 - 10.63 AT 125 DEPENDING ON THE WHEATHER. IF YOUR A MEMBER ON RACING JUNK GO TO YOUR PROFILE THEN SEARCH FOR "KSLICKS" TO SEE PICTURES AND A RUN DOWN. I WONT GO ANY WHERES ELSE FOR NOW ON FOR TRANS OR CONVERTER WORK. CARL KNOWS HIS STUFF I HAVE FRIENDS THAT HAVE BEEN USING HIM FOR A LONG TIME. ONE IS A TOP DRAGSTER THAT RUNS 7.90S LOW 8.0'S AT 165 MPH, 3 SEASONS OLD AND STILL GIONG STRONG. THE CONVERTER IS THE SECOND MOST IMPORTANT THING TO GOING FAST AND QUICK, THE FIRST IS A GOOD ENGINE. THANKS KEN
