does anyone know how much fuel pressure u should have in front of regulator for a 582 bb 975 hp

Each manufacturer has specs on their pumps you can find online or call them. 24-28# is normal for 400-500 GPH modern pumps. If you do not have pressure drop after the regulator during the run you probably have enough.
