Doug, i a little bias but i like Brodix 18's, but almost everyone's 18 degree seem to flow about the same CC'ed, about 370 CFM. Brodix told me a couple yrs. ago with hand massaging it's possible to get around 395 CFM. There was also a head porter in Mo. that uss step down to 3/8" studs that claimed to get 430 CFM with the Brodix, Cost about $3500.00 complete.
I know you can make 850/900 HP with the 18* heads, perhaps a 100 HP more than 23* heads. You can also go bigger than a 1050 dom with them.

the car below is a local car and a friend of mine i've seen the car 5.18 in the 1/8 mi. which translates to mid to low 8's. But it has SB2.2 type heads on it. It weighs about 2300 lbs and is an all tube car. It also has a 1250 dom. on it.
I don't know how much HP he's making but it's a real hand full to drive.

Zip i'am leaning towards brodix 18 as i could use my t&d rockers w/ new bars, i was wondering what everyone thought about other heads. Thanks Doug

Doug i suppose you already know that you will need .180 offset lifters. i have Brodix 10 FP, RP's with 2.150 (tit) valves and T&D rockers mine are offset .250 and i have to use the .180 offset lifters. I think the rockers are offset .750 on the 18* heads. I'd almost bet that Chad Speire could get them to around 400 CFM. O'h and the largest pushrods is 5/16" due to clearance atleast on my Brodix 10's. I've got .726 lift with 1.6 rockers, but my heads only flow 328 CFM @.600

18x

Zip my T&D shaft rockers are the same (offset) as used on Brodix 18x just different bars, and i have .180 offset lifters so if i stay with the 18x i could use my rockers if i find a set of 15's or other brand 18's they would have to have shaft rockers. Doug

I'm pretty sure you'll have to change the pistons also. I don't know how much advantage would come from 18* to 15* heads, maybe a call to Brodix and they could tell you. Either way i'm thinking around a 100 HP increas which should easily get you into the 8's.

Doug,The 18c is a better head than the 18x,especially on a big motor.I have a 412 motor with 10 yr old edelbrock victor 18 heads done by Chapman.I never tried any of the other 18 heads but at 3100 lbs on 10 inch tires my car has run 1.35 60,5.99 115.65 1/8 9.38 114.97 1/4.Comp 14.4 to 1 850 carb,T&D rockers 5.50 offset in 1.70 offset ex.
