adjusting valves
 
installed hyd flat tap cam how do you adjust valves for start up so i can break in cam without adjusting ? soaked lifters for a month in oil and primed oil system just need to now how to adjust them up thanks eric

I personally spin the push rod while tightening up the rocker with the opposite valve on that cylinder at max lift. when the push rod quits spinning tighten 3/4's turn.

with engine idling slow, i back off rocker until it starts to clack, then tighten slowly till quiet, then another 1/2 turn...go thru them all...now they are all exactly the same...should be quiet under the hood when done...and listen to the exhaust...should be music :wink:

with exhaust valve starting to open, adjust intake
with intake starting to close adjust exhaust
1/4 to 1/2 turn
