which block and or engine to build?

Have a gen 6 502 that kicked a rod in my bracket car.Which would be better too build, the 502 stroked to a 540,or i have a 427 tall deck block that i could stroke to a 469-511ci.Have to buy a new rotating ass. anyhow,so wondering which would make a better bracket motor for the long haul ,nothing wild looking for 750-800 hp,2400lb car.

I believe the truck block is a more stable platform to build from.

With the costs of the kits you see in the classified sections from places like V's or Nye's, I would look to go that route and pick up a nice after market Dart Block.
