A few ideas. Pics of our work
Here's some of My brother's handy work. Click on the pics to enlarge.
Ever forget to turn on your main? Pain in the butt in car with no doors. We used a PTO cable. Mounted the handle on an existing bracket in the cockpit. I put reflective material to make it easier to see in the dark. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...h_100_1329.jpg See the two cables coming over the body? One is the chute. One the main. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...h_100_1330.jpg This is looking straight down at the switch. Mine is mounted under the chute. We drilled a hole in the switch handle, ran the cable through, and put to stops on the cable. It took some adjusting to get it right but it works like a charm. You can shut the car off from the outside without using the cable. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...h_100_1332.jpg The cable was hose clamped to the frame rail. My brother and a coworker made new brackets for the chute handle. I applied reflective material to this handle as well. That's why it glows in the pic. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...h_100_1340.jpg A spring was put on the dipstick to make sure it wouldn't come out on it's own. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...h_100_1342.jpg My brother gave me a scoop mount dial-in board bracket. On my car, you can change the dial by just standing in the seat and reaching forward. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...h_100_1339.jpg Crankcase vent bought at Autozone. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...h_100_1338.jpg We Switched from a Shogun remote water pump to a Proform electric mounted in the stock location. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...h_100_1337.jpg The radiator was one out of my dad's Monza. My brother had to have all the brackets custom made. We put it in at an angle to fit better and we think it can pull more air through than if it was mounted flat. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...h_100_1336.jpg In order to put an alternator on the car, once again the brackets are custom made. The front curved piece was trimmed of an air conditioner bracket from a '77 olds 350 I have on a stand, in my garage. The back brackets were fabbed at my brother's shop. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...h_100_1333.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...h_100_1334.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...h_100_1335.jpg |
