How would one determine what is excessive wear on something that has 200,000 miles?

of all the intakes I've pulled off I never seen a gear with teeth worn allmost all the way off

I'm going to take a stab at this one, i'm guessing the timing chain is very loose and getting a lot of bouncing around, also take a look at the cam gear it may be just as bad.

just a thought

I would say at 200.000 miles the whole engine is at the end of the line
