12volt electric vacuum pump questions?

Has anyone had any experience with the electric vacuum pumps?I am considering going to alky carb and have heard of some guys using the elec. pumps strictly to evacuate the moisture from the crankcase, and that is all i want to accomplish.i run an alternater so i dont think there will be any issues related to running down the battery.also dont know where to get one,any help or advice appreciated.

The electric vacuum pumps cost a bit more that a belt kit.
A Moroso 3 vane belt kit is about $900
A Star electric kit is abuot $1750
One advantage is you can mount an electric kit anywhere. They also do not use the car battery but come with two 24 volt (DC) DeWalt rechargeable batteries.
