Towing with a Motorhome

Looking for information on what needs to be done to tow an enclosed trailer with a 24' motorhome. And who does it !

My Dad does it. He has a Ford with a 460. It is kind with the van nose. He has no problem at all towing. The only mods are the trailer has an RV tounge and he had additional bracing put on the reciever.

We tow the race car and the show car with our motorhome invest on a back up camra there is nothing like runing down the freeway with your trailer on fire and you can't see it till its to late. Its worth the money.

What have you done to the motorhome in the way of hitch support !

I would suggest that you use a weight distribution style hitch.

I HAVE A 24 FT CLASS C MOTOR HOME AND TOW A 24FT ENCLOSED AND HAVE NO PROBLEM. I BOUGHT A SHORT MH BECAUSE THE FRAME IS ONE PIECE. I DO USE WEIGHT DIST BARS. IT HAS 460 ENGINE AND HAS PLENTY OF POWER.

Great question
I had the same question when I bought my RV. I found a trailer Co. that fabricated a custom 12,000 lb hitch and use a weight distribution hitch as well.
I have a 37ft RV and a 32ft enclosed trailer that I tow with no problems but I would recommend a custom hitch if you are going to tow alot of weight.

I have a 34 class a and a 28 foot enclosed trailer. What we did was to brace the hitch up with some box and angle tubing... I used a weight distributing hitch and have no issues at all...

You just have to look at it and see what can flex and make it not flex.

We had a friend who works for a steel company weld it for us. Nothing special he just made some additional bracing.
