weight differece sbc vs. bbc

Trying to figure out what do you guys think the weight difference between a aluminum block 737bbc with splits to a iron eagle block 434 with two carbs. I hope it is around 200 pounds as the motor is way smaller. What do you guys think

A cast iron BBC block is around 270 lbs or so...just the block. A aluminum head is between 37 and 42 lbs and a cast Iron head is about 70 lbs...not sure about an aluminum block and the internals.

I have a bare SBC block and a bare BBC block w/ the center main caps missing in the garage.

The SBC weighs approx. 155 lbs.

The BBC Block weighs approx. 200 lbs.

I've never weighed a complete version of either but I think a 200 lb. difference is realistic.

i was always told that there is 150lb differance in a small to big but i'm not sure if thats correct.i hope so cause i'm going big this year. good luck

I swapped from SBC with dart little m to BBC with dart big m. I gained 100lbs exactly. This was actual weight with everything in/on the motors in the car.
