Header and brodix T1 heads

The headers i have dont seem to have the "D" shape ports that the brodix heads have. Do they have to have the same shape? The holes are in the right place, just not the same shape? If they have to be the same, whats a good header that will fit the Brodix track 1 heads?

I run 1 7/8 Hookers with track-1 heads, they come with adapters to the chev pattern at a cost of about $500.00.

Zip.

I'm running a weld up kit header with 2-1/8 round tubes with my Track 1's. The tube is big enough that there is no mismatch.

How the heck do you bolt up headers with that large of a tube without adapters?

No adapters, the headers were on it when I got the truck. In fact, the engine that was in it had Track 1's on it. The tubes are formed at the header flange and are not perfectly round, kinda flat on the header bolt sides. And yes, they are 2-1/8 'cause I had to replace the collectors (bolt on) 2 years ago after a race at a junk local track ripped them off.

Gotcha. I thought there had to be something like that.

So will rectangular headers work on a head with "D" ports?

Yes and so will full round tubes as long as they are outside the head openings. Put a gasket on the heads and see that it clears the d-port on the heads, then put the same gasket on the headers and make sure they are outside the head ports. No one makes a header that is a perfact mact to the ports on the heads, the main concern is that the head empties into the header without hitting the flange of the header or the tubes in the flange. i run 1 7/8" hookers on my brodix-1's and i can assure you the exhaust ports are not that big.
