Hmmm ?

If a head or block is vracked, how soon will you see milky oil?

What are some other symptoms?

I think it's just a freeze plug but have not climbed under it yet to find out.

BTW, not my engine, but my brothers 350....electric fan quit and it got up to 220 degrees.

Thanks

Thanks

I'd say 220's not enough to crack it. Heck most factory stuff runs about 210 anyway. Just my .02

Seems to be leaking from where the block meets the oil pan or just above, like from a tapped hole.
Starter is in the way so not exact on it, but it seems to be from there.
Thing is the oil looks fine, no foam or milky look to it at all.

I agree, no way the block is cracked...Hell these Jeep Cherokees run a 190 thermostat and the 2 dollar guages say they are around 210 to kick open..

I figured it out...Thanks Perry and Blittle

Now it is not like you chevguy65 to not tell us the details...So come on now and tell us the problem....I hope you got it fixed but I think your problem sounds like it is not going to be an easy fix...More details

Well, it turned out to be a freeze plug had unseated a bit.
I took a hammer and some sealer and cleared the leak right up.

Now we have to rebuild his trans and he will have a sweet ride for sure.

Put in a new electric fan today, new thermostat, flushed the radiator, installed a switch for the fan (not going to rely on thermostatic control), pulled the carb and cleaned it, tightened up the exhaust, all in 103 degree heat.

Did you ever get that lazy Susan installed next to the couch like you wanted?

Glad to hear that and what was the problem that it would not rev any higher??? Always good to dodge the bullet and sounds like he did...
