New Engine
 

Looking to buy a new engine for my junk ,need around 900 hp and was checking out Reher Morrison ,Schmidt, and Sunset Racecraft .
All have good deals but the Texas boys come with tax man whoes .
Has anyone delt with Schmidt engines do they build a good product?
Engine wont see alot of use probably once a month fun during the season.
Know of any other respectable builders that are not in Texas that put together a good basic BBC?

If you had not included that I could have tooted my own horn. Really that is something I try to not do on the internet.

ok, so on to the foreign boys;

I will strongly advise to stay away from Eagle Racing Engines, but some guys are happy with them, and those who are doing their ebay sales pitches.

That is about all that comes to mind right now in other states that I know their reputations.

Either of those choices are very good ones, there is also another very good builder in texas, I believe in Plano,Tx. Ed Wilson(EdVanced Engines)
One of the best.

Steve Schmidt is also good, but I heard he sold out. Dont know if it's true or not.

Reher Morrison, taxes or not will be hard to beat. Very good folks to deal with.

EDIT< Dang Ed we were typing at the same time.

Talk to Ed with Edvanced engines....he may be in Texas but he builds a good engine.

Besides, it does not matter where you get your engine from, you still have to pay sales tax on it...it's called a use tax.

Nothing wrong with Texas boys I am one myself just figured I could use the tax money for a vac pump or nos ,every penny counts.

LOL...that is a common misconception...
When you buy something from out of state and is shipped to from another state, that state does not charge you sales tax, but you are supposed to pay what is called a use tax which is basically your states sales tax.

Very few people pay it because there is no way to track or regulate it.

As far as coming to Idaho, I do not want that either, I can't take another ass whoopin :D :P :P
