Something I see..
I do not get into the scammer forum often but what I seen going on over there is NOT right ... It has to do with one of the forums own selling a guy a product that was not correct, maybe he wasnt to blame directly but IMO he is the one to blame if your the guy who purchased them. The topic is locked, why to defend one of RJ's own When really its no different then any parts seller topic and it should be left open IMO.
Let me ask this ... what happens if the guy doesnt come on the scammer forum ? He'd been getting a run around for months, maybe its not the seller fault ... but in the end the SELLER should of made it right LONG ago. It took the forum to makes things right, thats why its here in the first place. My 2 cents ... if you guys are going to get on some people and moderate this forum, you cant pick and choice who to defend .. the truth always does that. |
David what you say is true!
What if Mr Meyer had not come on here, how much longer would he have waited to get the issue resolved? I have never bought anything from Ron but have read nothing but good things about him. But here was a customer that fell through the cracks, posted up on here about his problem after feeling he was getting the run around and (hopefully) got his issue resolved. |
You guy's are right and this should have been resolved long ago and I'm
not trying to pass the blame off when Mr.Meyers called me about this i called Williams and was told that he would take care of it. and told me to give Mr.Meyers his number so i did . Then later i get a call from Mr.Meyers that he never got his taller covers so i called Williams back and we had a long talk about it and was told again he would take care of it witch he didn't as we all can see. So for the last few week's i have been trying to get it handled and Williams kept running me around telling me a different story every time when i could get a hold of him. Why would i try to scam some one for a set of valve covers as long as i have been on racing junk . I know people get's scammed all the time and some times for less but for me to loose everything for this is crazy . I am looking for a new shop to make my valve covers for me i don't need this kind of thing happening anymore nor does my customers . |
Like i have said before from the very beginning all i was looking for was a exchange i waited almost 10 months before i posted anything and i do believe i would still be waiting if i did nt post anything. I also said that i dont like using theses forums to air things out. I do believe i would still be waiting if i wound'nt have posted this.
I just hope its finely going to be over and we can get on with it i will keep everybody up to date when i get them. |

The tracking # pulls up on UPS site, but it's not updated. It shipped on the 25th. By now it should show where the package is. |
I just checked also i am going to call Williams again i tried to get him this morning but no answer i want to follow it also but that is the tracking number he gave me and it has the right city but it should have been updated by now.

It is too bad this issue went that far...
Most RJ forum guys here know Ron is reputable... no way he is a scammer... I don't believe that. At the same time, the customer waited too long & it was to hard to resolve in a reasonable time frame. No one here should be burned at the stake... all human mistakes. Glad it got fixed. |
Rabbit, that usually means someone has entered the shipping info and printed the label but the box has not been picked up and scanned by UPS.

the thread should have been allowed to run its corse and if it was resolved properly that would have spoke for its self. now it looks like someone it being protected......not good.

Ya chuck it looks like it i will refund Mr.Meyers money and just try to deal with Williams i have tried to get a hold of him numerous times and no answer .
I left him message after message and no call back . And as i said before I'm not trying to pass blame off i did think after i gave Mr.Meyer his number that it was taken care of until i got the call about it again. I don't have a problem doing that for Greg and i know he would rather have covers that is tall enough for his set up and that for some reason Mr.Williams
has a problem getting done. |

Well to begin with, There isn't anything on Ron's website about tall valve covers like the one's he ordered. He should have ask before ordering them. Ron has tried to get the builder to do something about it. Do you think Summit,Jegs would refund his money? They do not do cash refunds check with them. They will replace the part and that's it. Which is what Ron has tried to do.Sounds like you have a sour taste in your mouth also, Did you order the wrong part also? Ron is beating a dead horse by trying to get the builder to do something. He can't get him to answer the phone. Ron try and get this whinner his money so he can go somewhere else.

Mark its obvious that he talked to ron and agreed to get them swapped out. plus he even said in his post that he only wanted to exchange them..! if you look at the pic on his site.. there sure as hell look like tall valve covers.... and for the price they should be. i mean is there anyone that even still makes short ones anymore.... other then them cheap moroso at auto zone. sour taste..... you got to be joking bro... you cant lock down a thread cause your friends with the guy.... their are alot of other rj sellers that get posted in here for basically the same kind of issues and no one locks them :roll: just my 2 cents..... :wink: |

Mark We all know Ron is a good guy but in all fairness if you were the buyer you'd feel different. Even as a forum and knowing Ron you can NOT tell the buyer he is downing Ron, as from his shoes he doesnt know Ron from anyone and feels as if he is getting the run around. Which we all can see is kind of happening but at no fault of Ron. |

Mark Whinner .. thats just wrong. If you think what has happened to this guy is ok and he has no right to complain (or be a whinner) and get on here you are flat wrong. In a good business the customer is always right and you make them happy sometimes at your cost. I deal with people all the time in the racing and non racing world selling parts/cars and making someone wait this long to make it right is just bad business. What sets the big companies such as Jegs and Summit apart is they can refund/replace parts in a few minutes, why because its good business to make the customer happy. |

I don't think you can call this guy a whinner and I believe it was confirmed his order was correct but possibly the wrong thing shipped. I think he has been pretty patient waiting this long and still giving Ron the chance to get this straight. |
I have been waiting on parts from Year One for my Challenger for months. I work at a dealership and i know most times when you can't get the parts is because of the vendor. ''You know the people that makes them''The parts have been paid for online but you don't see me jumping up and down over them.

gentlemen i understand everybody's comment on this problem and Mr.Meyers has talked to Mr.Williams himself several times i found out after talking Mr.Williams and Mr.Williams has give him the run around also and that is why he contacted me about the problem .
Now Mr Williams is doing it again . Let me say i have no hard feeling for Mr.Meyers or any one that has posted comments about this . I have tried to talk to Williams numerous times and he say's every time it is taken care of and even gave me the tracking number that i posted witch apparently has never been picked up by ups. I do not have a problem doing a refund for Mr.Meyers I know he would much rather have the valve covers . Witch is all he wanted in the first place was a replacement set because the one's he has is not tall enough to clear his shaft rockers And these are not china made covers they are custom made Pontiac valve covers that is not a very easy cover to get in a fabricated cover with a 3/8 billet rail . I do appreciate everybody's concern on this and Mr.Meyers has been more than patient and i don't blame him for anything he has said . I did take his order and he paid for them so there for i am responsible . I also placed his order with Mr.Williams and he sent a set to him They just was not tall enough for his application and Williams has give us both the run around . |

That's no problem Greg i am truly sorry about this and i don't have a clue what is going on with Williams i have tried my best to talk to him as you could see his work is great but i can't have these kind of problems .
I just hope i can find another fabricator that can build all the valve covers i need. |

Yes Mr/Meyers sent the covers he had back to me and i refunded his money
And needless to say Mr.Williams tried to tell me he sent the new covers out but i know he didn't he said let me check and see were they are and i will call you back . Still waiting on the phone call. |
I think Mr Meyers needs to confirm this issue as being resolved and the locked thread "Ron Owens Racing" should be updated as such.

Just checked my credit card statement and the refund has not showed up yet. I talk to Ron last week when he entered it and it may take a few days to show up.When it does and i will check daily i will do what it takes to lock or remove this thread. Thanks for asking and the interest in this matter
