Japan

America needs to be prayin' for the folks in Japan......Katrina times 100....
It WILL be interesting to see how quickly they put their country back together. There's a lot of our Katrina damage STILL not resolved.

Amazing !!!

Think how much work is ahead for their nation.

AMERICA was 'first on scene' with an aircraft carrier battle group.

There was a reporter on tv live last night. She was standing on a road that was covered in mud. She said the towns people had been out there shoveling to clear the road so help could get through. I told my wife "At least they aren't sitting on the roof waiting for somebody to help."

On O'reilly the other night, he was talking to an American that lives there. Bill said the Japanese are a very structured and law abiding. He asked if there were problems or looting. The other guy said no and that he didn't expect to see any.

Compare that to the looting, raping and killing that goes on here after a disaster.

It's our 'entitlement' attitude...........

Perhaps even more impressive than Japan’s technological power is its social strength, with supermarkets cutting prices and vending machine owners giving out free drinks as people work together to survive.
Remember 9-11? Gas prices around here skyrocketed. Many gas stations were price gouging.

outlaw256 03-14-2011 11:15 AM

yall can feel sorry for them all you want. im a seperatist.always have been.every time something goes wrong in the world , our government takes my money and yours and herre they go.foreign aid. what about aid at home.they want to open the borders even more.give amensty to all the illegals that are here now. give them my social sercurty money health care for free.school lunches. im sorry but you can NEVER make me feel sorry for things that happen outside of my country.and no slow i wouldnt buy anything foriegn if i didnt have to. but there is no way around it.up untril a few years ago japan had extemely high tarrifs on american made products.in the 70s you could buy a honda 750 cheaper in the u.s. than you could in japan. they flooded the market here, in hopes of getting a foothold here for other products. by the time our government caught on it was too late.damage done. research history. its there, in black and white.no i dont like italy or german products.italin leather. whats wrong with american cows. their skin no good?im not feeling my best today so im not gonna be able to type alot but start reading and read alot. then you can see what ive been saying for years.draw your own conclusions.but if you read with a open mind i will bet you , you will change your mind.does anyone know who opened the oil fields in the land of sand? american companies. we did it. we paid them for the rights.when they found out hey theres money in that there sandbox, our government stepped in and we lost them.that happened many many years ago.no i dont feel for any of them. the american people get blamed and screwed for every thing that goes on in this world.so srew em.

Harbone 03-14-2011 11:25 AM

Get feeling better Outlaw, we need honest and open opinions on here!

When Katrina hit we could not even help our own people yet we have battleships parked all over outside of Japan?

We need to watch and take care of our ourselfs, we have enough problems already in this country.

Thats just my opinion, I could be wrong...

mopar1968 03-14-2011 11:55 AM

I have to agree with Chris & Outlaw on this, I do feel for human life but we need to take care of ourselves before taking care of other countries, People here laid off from job's most without health care it is a endless list, Do you think they would come over here to our aid :?: I dought it :!: And i also could be wrong :!:

Scorpion1110 03-14-2011 12:28 PM

Sorry boys can't agree on this one. Hate the governments all you want; but the governments arent always the people.

If I was a young man and could get over there and help I would, there are men women and children starving right now.

What makes a man human is his compassion and willingness to help others, regardless of what they might have done to him in the past. These starving homeless and orphaned kids are not responsible for tarriffs.

What makes this the greatest country on earth is that we walk the talk and show that compassion and willingness to help.

Sometimes the road to greatness is lonely, desolate and friendless- but you do it because you are great.

X2 Scorp!

I understand outlaw's opinion. I asked the Germany/Italy question to see it it was all imported products or just Asian.

As far as Katrina goes. Those people were warned way ahead of time. They chose to stay there. Then they complained about the gov not doing enough for them.

Not everybody down there is a bad person. Why are there still people living in FEMA trailers 5 years later? They will stay in them till they are booted out. It's hard to help people that won't help themselves.

If you think I'm just a jerk that doesn't like helping people,
I'm the membership director for our local Lions Club. http://lionsclubs.org/EN/index.php
We do a lot to help our community. We do get people that try to defraud us. They give fake addresses or claim family that isn't in their house to try to get benefits they don't deserve.

What sets America and her PEOPLE apart is our willingness to be boots on the ground when the schitt hits the fan.

BUT i am afraid we do it toooo many times for STUPID reasons.

OUR GREAT TROOPS deserve better from our leaders[ cough cough ]
gee- i got cho  ked on that last word

TheYellaBrick 03-14-2011 06:26 PM

That is the crux of most of our problems today in the USA, NO 'LEADERSHIP'
I can only dream how Ronnie would be handling things........

The ONLY upside of all that is happening the last few years, is it is FORCING U.S. to wake up and pay attention. IF we, the People can work TOGETHER and pull America back up by her bootstraps, when we are at the very edge of the cliff, America will be even BETTER than before. I sincerely believe that America's better days are yet ahead of us. Remember, America was a divinely inspired nation, built on goodness and freedom.

"Americans just get it done, not expecting reward, but because it's the right thing to do"

slowmotion 03-15-2011 06:56 AM

X2 harbone. Outlaw you didn't stir it up. I agree with a lot of what you say.

Scooterz 03-17-2011 04:34 PM

X-TOO,

I like your comments Outlaw... does not mean everyone will agree though. I like that you are still passionate about stuff!!! Keep on keepin on!!

I lived in Japan for 2.5 years (1982-1984ish). Yokosuka- Navy brat. I lived off base for awhile & got to know the people well. I learned they ARE NOT to be confused with Chinese, Vietnamese, Philippine folks, etc... they like to be recognized for who they are exactly (not that they are prejudiced). Here is what I liked: we did not need to lock our doors/house, stuff did not get ripped off, we could be safe just about anywhere when I was there. Here is what was VERY interesting...

Moved on base later, had to lock car doors, had my BMX bike ripped off, got into some fights, etc.... I missed living off the base more. People in Japan have a great deal of honor & treat each other with respect. They are very disciplined & smart. They will survive this. Personally, if it is manufactured in Japan, I look at it as quality... not the same as China, Indonesia, Taiwan, etc... I not know about those places much.

We have ourselves to blame for the manufacturing NOT done in the USA. Believe me, I know how hard it has become to manufacture product here. (I work for a USA manufacturer) I am one of the few that gets to sell product to people in other countries.... such as Japan. Our bows are all made here in Oregon (Bowtech) & sent all over the world.

Anyways, I wish we would get back into more USA made things, but our politics & government has made that very hard with excise tax, taxes in general, pollution concerns, etc... Scooter

dragonmaster093 03-17-2011 06:49 PM

here is my opinion for what its worth
a in 1942 they attacked us with out provication and we had to show them to respect others
b we felt sorry for using the bomb on them and helped rebuild them
c then over the years sold our selves to them
d now we help them out and sell ourselves deeper

now how about this we use or resources time and misc to help but they wipe out our debts?
nice friendly trade heck racers do it all the time

mopar1968 03-17-2011 07:12 PM

Correct me if i am wrong but aren't the United States in debt with China not Japan :?: :?:

Pearl harbor was Dec. 7, 1941, just over 69 years ago. How many people responsible for the attack are still alive? Using that for an arguement is almost as bad as black people hating white people for slavery that happened almost 150 years ago.

TheYellaBrick 03-21-2011 08:03 AM

i dont hold them responcible for pearl harbor i hate all countries that import their crap here.our government was so blind years ago to their dumping practices that we have been paying for it for years.it wasnt just honda it was every thing they sent over here. it all could be bought cheaper here than in their own country.and thats a fact jack. now they have a foothold here they no longer need to do it but the damage is done and i resent it ALOT!!! i still have my t shirt that says id rather push my harley than ride a honda.
