I agree with ''Vega'' somewhere in the 750 range :!: How ever we do have a expert on here that can pin point it to the horsepower :!: :!:

I think about 700 if that, because i think the 990 heads are going to hurt you.

motor
That's a lot of intake valve for a 461,may work with the e85.

My prediction will be 650 to 700 hp.
TS1955 |
I say 673hp
|
If you will, post the results. i used almost that same combo to tune my chassis, i used a set of 820 ovals with a back yard port job and 2.25 -188 valves, no idea on the number of ponies, but the thing ran dang good.
|
guess
compression helps, but the heads will hurt this combo 689 HP to 700 and 600 to 625 foot lbs
Let us know good luck , it should be a good stout durable motor |

not sure what head i should have used the motor is in a mud drag truck and they have a stock head casting number rule and it has to be a steel head from what i have read the gm squair port heads were the best. i didnt have them flowed but i did cc the and the intake ports are right at 345 let me know what you thank i can do to get alittle bit more out of her im wanting 750
|
I'm looking at my dyno sheet from my old 548. It made 793 at 6,700. It was similar to your build, but I did have a set of aluminum heads c&c 'd by RFD. They flowed 400cfm at .800 and I did have a vacuum pump.
I doubt with those heads you're gonna get into the 700's, but I'm not fimilar with them. Even though you have to run iron heads can you run a vacuum pump and a dry sump? Not cheap hp, but you gotta do what you gotta do to win! |
no vac pump and must have a wet sump
|
That head may get you close, one of my worries would be the big valve size, 4.280 bore may be a little small for that size valve.
|
I think you will be around 670-680 hp and 570-590 tq, but I think the ported Super Vic is going to hurt you. Thats a big intake for your cu in. A Victor Jr. would be a better choice...IMO.
