You guys aint seen fugly...there is a late seventies chevy truck running around Indy that have ginormous pro stock hood scoop,fog lights, a number on the door, and great big mudd tires on the back with "normal" tires on front. ..mud flaps, and To top it off it is painted robin egg blue and the sides are covered with contingency stickers... mostly "jegs" and "edelbrock" , I laugh out loud every time I see it cruisin' around.

I think every big city has a few of those idiots driving around, seen more than a few here in the Memphis metro area.

The guy that drives it appears to be rather young(big surprise) I wish I could catch him at a gas station and strike up a conversation about his truck...might be interesting.

Theres this man I seen 1 time at Pickwick he has a car with the roof chopped of and a recliner in the trunk drives it up there and parks it and sits back and relaxes and watches the races havent seen him in a while LOL :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

There is a guy here that has almost the same front end on a late 90's step side truck. It looks STUUUPID.
5 or 6 years ago I saw a big truck with a big hood scoop on it. At first you can't help but think what idiot did that, but it actually looked pretty cool. It fit the truck pretty good.

OH, I got a good one....

We have a dude here that has about a 78' Cutlass. It is spray-painted yellow (like krylon spray-can), it has a fake roll-bar made from plumbing joints/pipe, (I love this part) he has a fire extinguisher held by hose clamps attached to the fake roll bar so it is visible from the side window, air shocks in back pushing the limit (the car looks like it is in "heat"), one glass-pack hanging down at an angle so it comes out one side (like Nasscar), snow-tires on back on steel wheels painted "chrome" silver, Harwood style hoodscoop that is riveted from the TOP of the hood, and the best part... drum roll please.... A BIG 10FT TALL C.B. ANTENNA THAT WHIPS AROUND mounted on the deck-lid. Much like Tod noted on his example earlier, this dude has "sponsor" stickers on all windows & on lower fenders showing his patronage (none of which actually support this vehicle w/ their parts). This dude does sport a mullet as well (I know, this is too good!!!) & when you look at him driving this awesome machine, he looks mad most of the time like he is in a BAD mood... while he has his hand gently bent over the steering wheel w/ a cigarette hanging down between 2 fingers. I think the Methamphetamine may have caused his no-so-friendly look on his face.... just a guess.

That said men, I now deem these glorious automotive specimens with a special name: "BUTT-RODS" what do you think???? I like it!!!

Post up if there are some other good names for these timeless & amazing white trash jalopy's. Keep in mind, if one of these species tries to tell you it is a "Rat Rod" they drive, we can't let them get away with that nonsense. These vehicles are in their own class... they really need a good name.

Theres good and bad in all of them I mean my dad had me into Dodge trucks when I was a kid but I finally saw the light and now I have 2 Chevrolet's now you can say what you want about the junkyards the reason they are full is because Chevy could actually sale a vehicle thats why you hardly see mopars/fords at the track!! And usually if its a mustang what do they have in them now SBC/BBC because they are cheap to run and cheap to build and last a good long while!!! You can get a good amount of HP per dollar with a chevy and mopar/ford well frankly they are high to build and if you buy a mopar body usually they are high if you find a good one the reason chevy bodies are cheaper is because they are more plentyfull because unlike chevy owners the product was to good to be crushed like a mopar/ford they'd rather crush a mopar/ford than let a chevy body get crushed so they just put chevy's in junkyards!! And another reason you don't see many mopars/fords is because the quality of the metal is to poor that they just rot into the ground!!

I try to stay out of the brand comparison or bashing ... here is why:

GM made the Citation/Chevette...
Chrysler made the Aries "K" Cars...
Ford made the Pinto/Escort
Pontiac even made a "GTO" after 1972... not cool w/me.
Buick... seen some very undesirable rides.
AMC they made a "Matador/Hornet" ?????
Olds made all those 80's front wheel drive cars that nobody wanted.

As far as the good muscle produced from all of the above, I like them all. but they all came up w/ some bad ones too.

It's funny now but it sure wasn't at the time. :)

Haha, I was just in Indy last week and saw that. I just started cracking up. I also saw a riced out civic with an obnoxious fart can and a forward facing hood scoop, and one ugly body kit. The car it self was red and the body kit is a primer green/gray.

Another Fast & Furious wannabee... I love those obnoxious rear spoilers that bolt on the rear deck... they are typically much higher than the actual roof line, wider than the car, & if they actually went fast, they would create major wind drag.

I know it wasnt towards me at all Scoot. I get a lot of looks when I am driving my Celica. Alot of guys have to pick up their jaws off the ground when they see it. The best part is that the car is completely stock except for the paintjob and these wannabe ricers that have all that extra B.S. on their cars pull up next to me and try to get me to race them. I always have to laugh cuz I know for a fact that my Celica can whoop them no problem.

gotta add my find to the list. saw a late '70's 4 door impala with chrome steel slots, jacked up, with chevy valve covers bolted to the hood for special effect. we call them rez racers around here.
