tow mater never had a hood either!

NICE TRUCK.

I have a hood, I'm just too lazy to re-engineer the hood hinges.

The last custom hinges I made for it basically sat behind the blower. Well, that was fine and dandy and worked with the 10-71.

But, the 14-71 now takes up that space. So, no hood. Some day, if I don't sell it first, I'll change the hinges around and put the 80 Lb hood back on it.

Thats a really nice truck. It has way to much power fer me.

OneBadGMC 08-05-2009 06:42 PM

Can turn the power way down... That's not a problem.

It's right around 1550 at the crank right now at 26 PSI.

Turn it down to about 12-16 lbs and it'll make about 1k, which should put it in the mid 9s.

DirkaDirka 08-05-2009 06:46 PM

OK you got me on that one. But I am just a lil bit short on funds. Say bout 34k short to be honest.

Well, if ya had to build it today, it's probably far less than 1/2 of what it would cost new.

It'd be tough to build the motor for less than 25k with new components, and more than likely closer to the 32k that Oddy's gets.

EXPENSIVE

OneBadGMC: I don't think i've ever seen my friend walk out of Oddy's for under 5 grand, not cheap.

OneBadGMC 08-06-2009 07:23 AM

And thats pretty much my point. For what it is, I'm pretty much giving it away.

It's already ran 5.30 flat @ 133 in the 1/8th on 11 yr old ET Streets, with it severely detuned. That's right about an 8.25 in the quarter at around 168.

There's no doubts in my mind that with a new set of slicks, it'll be in the 4s in the 8th, and deep in the 7s in the quarter.

Where else are ya gonna find a turn key truck with trailer for 36k that runs that fast?
