it won't turn over after running and if i try to start it, it sounds like the battery is dead if I let it sit for a couple hours it will crank up and run fine any ideas

check your battery terminals if there lose it wont give the motor enough power to start this happened on mine and my brothers truck had to clamp the positive terminal with vise grips to get to the parts store

starters tend to drag when hot and old,may start find when cold but not hot

txhunter69 05-20-2009 08:12 AM

hell go to the local parts store and trade the core in get you a new one for 40 bucks with a lifetime waranty it aint but a few bolts and 20 minutes to fix

MOST PARTS HOUSES WILL TEST YOUR STARTER FOR FREE AND YOUR BATTERY NEEDS A LOAD TEST ...IT CAN SHOW 12 VOLTS BUT WON'T UNDER A LOAD ,,,PARTS HOUSE WILL TEST BOTH "FREE" :D
