Hey guys, just wanted to give yall a heads up on this guy, I traded him my tube chassis vega and a 96 Honda Magna for a 68 Camaro on 9-30-08 We agreed that we would meet about half way. Everything started out pretty good and then he called and said that his brakes messed up on his truck and he had to go back and get the other truck. I told him that was fine and I would keep driving and we would meet somewhere. We finally met up and did the trade. He told me the engine in the camaro had been dynoed at 751 hp at the flywheel and he had forgot the dyno sheets in the other truck along with the tach, window net and new seat belts. I told him that would be fine, he could just send them to me when he got back. After a couple of weeks of not receiving anything I contacted him and he said that the package was sent back to his dads house and he would resend it the next morning. I again gave him my address so he could make sure that he got it right. A week went by and I sent him an email stated that I thought I had been screwed over and he replied back that he had been out of town and hadn't been able to send the package. This is now Decemeber and I contacted him saying that I was not going to forget about what he owed me. He then asked me how much money would it take to make things right, I told him $75 since I had already bought a tach for the car, he then replied, well lets just make it a $100. I told him that would settle things up between us then. That was two weeks ago and haven't heard anything from him. I p.m. him yesterday telling him that I was going to do this so it would not be a big surprize to him. I had put a message on his racespace about he was a good guy and I would do business with him again. When I didn't receive my stuff, I then put on his race space, beware of this guy and make sure you have everything you are supposed to before trading. Well he erased that one but left the one where I was saying he was a great guy to deal with. I know that its not much what he owes me but I just wanted yall guys to be aware of him. If I receive my money ($100), I will also post it on here. This is my first time doing this and don't like to but I think it is only fair since he is always trading on here. He has several ads on here right now: 1403393, 1402706, 1404064, 1404073, and 1404084.

Be it 75.00 or 100,000, a deal is a deal. If he did not follow through, that makes him a risk to deal with for others. I think you are doing the right thing. Good luck & I hope it all works out. Rigsby

i was ganna trade with him a few days ago he had a malibu on here,he said his back was out and he couldnt make the trip,so he said if i took the truck to him he wouldnt back out.man im glad i didnt do that i would ben a unhappy camper if he backed out,,,,,,,sounds like he probly would have.

I didn't, that is why I called the guy that owned it before him. He never let me know his number but I remembered him saying that the orevious owner worked at the drag strip he ran at. I called up there andstarted talking and got the shop that built the engine and the shop that built the trans. Called them and they remembered the car. Got all the information from them. I feel that it was better to go to the source then listen to him. :D

Yep, he is a scammer. This is all he does, buy, sell and trade cars on RJ and he has built quite a bad reputation. My friend and I bought an altered from him a few months ago and we had to chase him down to do it. Finally we met him at a dragstrip in Tn. He had already had a driver put 5 passes on the car before we got there. Real smart when you have a car sold! Right! We paid him for the car and of coarse he had forgotten the paperwork and documents for thecar but guess what, he would fax them in the morning. After many, many calls, lost calls, hangups and unanswered emails, we never did nor never will get that paperwork.

I have found that he is unreliable, untruthful and just down right decietful in dealing with cars. Shame on Nick Clayborn and he is trying to make a living on here.

I am sure there are hundreds of stories on her about Old Sanit Nick and his dealings. I have come across many of them accidentally.

well my deal with him was slightly diff.....i sent a guy andmy car to trade him for another car ,nick paid my driver 400.00 to do the transport,the deal was done,i came home from work and NOTHING was as it was said to be as far as parts on the car.....i called nick madder than heck and he said no problem he would eat the 400 and i could bring the car back and trade back so i did the same night. my deal was a bad deal in a way but he also lost in the deal so it is what it is.I am not sure how i feel about the whole thing but he did not give me any crap on trading back so am sorry to hear about your bad dealing with him.This website is going to get someone in trouble in a bad way someday when someone puts the screws to the wrong person!

Ol Nick hasnt changed. He promised to pay me travel exspenses if I brought a car all the way to his place in Albany Ky to do a trade. After we exchanged vehicles he said it was late and he hadnt gone to the bank but he would put $100 in my paypal act. the next day. Today makes two weeks and no deposit. This post had dropped of the 1st page of the board and I didnt do a search. I should have done more research on him but you live and learn. Nick ol buddy this I will promise you I will be a thorn in your side for a long time to come. :twisted:

YUP!!! Got me also owes me a 68 Camaro 4 inch fiberglass hood I never got from a deal 5 months ago. Said he shipped it and never got it. Would not return any emails or PMs

I have a bike trip planed in Sept. Will be going near him if he hasnt paid up by then I think I will stop by and pay him a visit. Some body else emailed me and said he owed their friend a trany. When I stop by I will see if he has your hood and that guys trany. Maybe we should have one of our old ladies follow in a pickup. Hard to tell what all we might find. :wink:

Suggestion.

Get the names of everyone who was scammed and as a group contact the police department in his area. Let them know you are coming to collect, would like to file a police report and then be accompanied to the residence for your stuff.

Dont you think that will cause a heckuva lot more aggravation that way? Take your camera as well so you can snap some pics- that will just tick him off.

Do it the right way so you can inflict the type of misery that lingers for years. Bones and bruises heal-litigation, criminal investigation and court proceedings can be the type of hassle that lasts for years.

BTW, when you get your stuff- make sure you get his address correct. Why?

Because you are going to send him an Xmas card annually to remind him that you are the guy who made his life miserable. No return address of course.

Let me tell you, I had the misfortune to deal with Nick Claborn(claborn5). He called me one night pushing me on a trade that he had. It was a 93 Cobra with a turbo. I coul tell that he was full of bull but the car did look good in the pictures. I followed through with what he wanted. He said we had to do the deal the next day. I spent the next morning getting someone to haul my car. When it came time to get in contact with claborn I spent the next five days getting the run around. Then finally he called and said if I would pay his fuel he would bring it to me. I waited all day Saturday and until this day I have not heard from him since. Luckily I lost just $100.00 dollars or so but still thats too much. Unless he has moved, I called around Albany Kentucky and have his Home number, Street Address, Cousins Cell number and Home number if anyone is interested. Nick just fair warning, all this mess is going to catch up with you! In my experience it is better to mess with a mans wife than mess with his car trading!

He said he had some sickness in his family and that is why he hadnt sent the money this time. I told him again that I would not go away and he should just pay up. It is no the money it is the principle of it. If I owed him I would pay him and I exspect the same. If you guys want to get together let me know.

well i just talked to him about thirty miutes ago i am fgame. i just traded a drag car project for a ford escape that he was buying parts for but now after being confronted with this issue on here he dosent want to do it . i will go i am in hopkinsville. i got a nice suprise for him

Nick just sent me my money via Western Union. He said he had the hood that he owes the guy and he will send it. Stay in touch with him and maybe you can work it out. Thanks to the forum and everybody if there is anything I can do for any of you let me know. Anthony.

When the officer has a large group all of which are willing to take action- I expect he will move.

For whoever is traveling to his jurisdiction I would make him the point person for collection.

If you go after him as a group, I have a gut feeling that you have a good chance to collect.

I recommend you take this offline and coordinate. A structured professional approach to the police will get a quick and directed response.

actually scorpion i met nick sunday for the first time ok. we did our deal and he owed me some parts. k i got my parts today and i am happy. less than a week. actually one dayu earlier than he promised. so i would appreciate it if you didnt attack me over this. maybe i got lucky or whatever. but he made good on our deal and thats what i was saying. i cannot speak for anyone else ok.

So on Sunday 08/09/09 you did your deal, and on 08/13/09 you posted that he wouldnt provide the parts and then 6 hours later you post that everything is fine and you got your parts.

So either YOU jumped the gun and owe this guy and apology, or he fully intended to take you and only made good because of the help you GOT HERE.

So instead of thanking the guy who probably didnt intend to provide you the parts BASED ON YOUR OWN WORDS AS A RESULT OF YOUR PHONE CONVERSATION; Thank the people on this forum who wasted their time reading your post(s) and providing you information.

Well He's posting new adds every day but wont reply to me. I dont need the hood it's just the simple fact it was part of the deal and he told me he shipped it and never did and he wont even respond to my emails or calls and atleast tell me to kiss off. I would have more respect for that.

Im done with it anyway even if he sent me 1000 dollars he's still a peice of SH&T.

Just wanted to say still no hood and he wont get back to me. I dont really care and I dont need it or the money but make sure if you deal with this guy you get everything up front. I just wanted to bring this up he has had 5 adds on here in the last 3 weeks.
