If inlines are so great then why don't you put a 250 ci 6 banger in your hot rod????No matter what someone owns certain "types" of people always have to out-do the other guy. There is nothing particulary wrong with any of them.I personally believe tha Dodge pulls better, the Chevy rides and drives the best and the Ford is a good truck if you want a diesel without spending alot of money, and don't mind listening to it start on a cold day.Or I should say cool day.Anywhere below 60 degrees outside,if you start a Powerstroke it beats, bangs and bucks like mad till it heats up a bit.Sounds scary.Dodge and Chevy start without any dramatics. For that reason alone I believe That Dodger and Chevy might have put a little more effort into their trucks(injectors???)

THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS THERE AIN'T A HILL OF BEANS DIFFERENCE IN ANY OF THEM :P THEY ARE ALL MADE FROM IMPORTED JAPANESE/CHINESE PARTS AND SLAPPED TOGETHER ON AN ASSEMBLY LINE BY SOME DUDE THAT PROBABLY DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT PART HE IS HOLDING."PUT TAB "A" INTO SLOT "B"...HMMMM)
This thread started as a guy needing advice ,and has turned into a "MY truck is better than YOUR truck" grade school argument. It is amazing how childish some guys can get while proving their "manliness"

hmmm lets see how many years ago did they give up on v8 deisel's in semi's? back in the day the old 250 inline when worked on by the right guy made alot of v8 owners sick. how can you compare a inline 250 to todays 600 and 700 cubic inch motor's. if you want to see some real racing look at this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlELmIC0rWc

:?: I wasn't comparing 250 sixes to 700 ci engines.I was trying to make a point about.....oh,nevermind.......

cummins

I really don't care what anyone say's i am in the automotive/ diesel field 5 day's per week, around dodge's, ford's, chevy's, and if duramax is great why did chevy sell it to toyota? 6.4 liter cornbinders, are being replaced on a daily basis, the cummins CANNOT be replaced by a duramax and certainly not by a cornchopper!!!!! no matter how many chips you stack on them!!!!!!!!

kw89425 03-25-2008 06:02 PM

well the little cummins is a proven product the same motor is in all kinds of things boats construction ag. the same motor that has been in use for years befor it ended up in a pick up truck. they just keep improving on it. i dont know anything about the new 6.8 havent heard anything on them and dont know anybody that has one yet.

mopar1968 03-25-2008 06:07 PM

you mean the 6.7 cummins? good engine, don't want to miss lead anyone has some computer issues, up dated at dealership, is running convertor in exhaust, but no major problems.
