Thanks. Ive had it close to a year now bout it off a good friend that helping me with the big block. I got my cam in today and gonna move on and buy push rods and roller tip rockers this week. I cant wait til I can post a pic of me smokin the dam tires off of it......

Hey guys was wondering on my rocker arms I was thinking about going with the Summit brand alumninum roller tip. Have any of you ever used them and are they a quality built part? If not what do ya'll recommend?

Whren I try to choose an engine or other high performance auto part, I look for a company that specializes in that type of part. If it is valvetrain related I stay with companies that are making camshafts or who only make that particular part as a major part of their business.

Private label parts with names attached to them like JEGS or SUMMIT or BIG END are out there to find the people who put price ahead of quality.

If you only want to pay in the $100 range for rocker arms you will probably get Chinese origin parts.

Good rocker arms are $250-$350 and you can expect USA origin and better quality.

COMP CAMS, HARLAND SHARP, LUNATI, CRANE, CROWER are quality names to look for.

I agree Mark spend that little extra money and get a good set :!: :!:

What does 1.7 or 1.75 ratio mean on rockers. And for this build which would I need??

i have personally used pro form roller tip rockers an loved them and my brother uses them in his dirt cars with no issues

Just as it says. the B/BlK normally uses 1.7 Rockers which is 1.7 times the actual lift of the cam, the 1.75's gives a little more lift to the valve. Multify the actual lift of the cam by 1.7 gives the actual valve lift, same as the 1.75 will show a little more actual valve lift.

Hey guys just got word back from the machine shop I was gonna need a new crank. That being said have amy of you ever ran a Lunati sledgehammer crank and if so what's your opinion? Or what other crank do you guys recommend for my application??
