Seriously though...I have wondered myself how to go about measuring the stroke on a crankshaft...I know what to measure but how would you do it accurately?

stick it in the engine block and measure bdc and tdc from the deck = stroke, that is if you dont have any other tools for checking...

I know that...I was refering to a crank standing in the floor....measuring from the center of the main to the center of the rod.

Any quality aftermarket crank has all the data on the #1 throw. The cast iron or cast steel may or may not have an indicator.

Buyer beware, check the throw and the material it's made from.
