Thanks everyone for your repsonses! I bought a new Dart Big M block with the 55mm cam tunnel and .904 lifter bores, RFD Edelbrock Victor heads and 1600 Pro System carb. I am building a 532 cu in engine and I want to put good reliable parts in there. I have to get the belt drive, crank, rods, pistons, oiling system, and pushrods yet.

Jesel hands down...... and never had any leaks!!!!!!

i got a comp belt drive on my motor. Only thing i dont like about it is the belt is so much wider than the jesel. They have you put spacers on your water pump. (min 1/4" spacer) other than that its a nice piece. I havent had any problems at all with it. I broke a crank and it knocked every valve and locked up the cam shaft. Broke the belt but nothing else got damaged belt drive wise.

If you buy a Jesel you will have to get the cover and the block machined. The Cv products cover just bolts straight on. I have just gone through this with mine. I ended up selling my jesel 2nd hand.

the jesel will bolt straight up to a standard block(2 or 4 bolt). But it doesnt bolt straight to the Dart Big M.

The Jesel bbc aluminum housing (cover) will generally bolt right on to GM production blocks. The interference is in the variation of block castings, not the Jesels. Both Jesel and CV are top notch quality, but I would stay away from the Comp Cams piece.

If thats the case then the CV one would be a good choice since it is a good product and save me a couple of $$$ of machining the block and cover. Thanks.

The CV (Xceldyne) stuff is very nice. Thats all we ran on the cup stuff. The last big M I built, the jesel did not hit the block, however it did hit the oil galley plugs behind the cover. As far as the comp, we have used them with great luck, but it is not the quality of the jesel or CV. I think the comp with the idler would be the way to go if you are running something that has been Aline honed.
