you mean 493 ft/lbs? I would say, if you have a sheet that says 593 tq, then, something wasn;t right in the calculations in the dyno. It just aint happenin. Unless, you had a samll NOS kit on it.

I don't care where you buy the parts, i am just saying i don't believe the 593 ft pounds of torque.
Those are big numbers for $1200.00
I would love to see the dyno sheets if you can post them.

"Too much power for $1200".Money spent doesn't equal horsepower.I'm making 700 hp with and spent a little over 6k,with all new parts. But,that does sound like alot of tq for that comp ratio and cam profile.Don't see that kind of tq(more than the hp) come out of a pump-gas motor very often.

We have a few guys at our track that can build fast motors cheap. Usually the car runs very fast.....for a short time. These guys seem to have a very high failure rate. I'd rather be the slower car with little or no maintenance than the "let's set the world on fire and go like hell" guy that usually blows up before a season is over.

EXACTLY.But brand names can run the bill up quickly. For example I could have ordered my stud girdles from Jomar directly and paid over $250 for girdles+locks.Or you can get the Engine Works brand from Ron Owens(and his lovely assistants)for $170,and when they show up at your door you'll be holding a set of Jomar's AND extra money :D

I wonder how much $ to have his assistants show up at my door.
