Goose is less money and for what your doing it should work good for you. I have a 48' Halmark with living quaters in the front and it's a goose set up.You can buy 2 types...one is mounted in the floor of the truck and the ball folds down in the floor.Nice thing with this set up is you have full use of the box.The other set up has cross rail bolted cross the floor.It''s the same setup has a 5th. wheel.Some people think they roll alittle because it's a ball but if you think of it that may be a good thing. I don't find it does .For what it's worth, I've been pulling trailers for over 30 years.

You can not go wrong with the gooseneck.Many are used for the oilfield where I work.I am a budget racer too, after the storm I bought a 10yr old 47 ft pace here on racing junk, i needed the space. Look into the B&W ball setup.It mounts completly under the bed, ball pulls out just leaving a 2" hole in the bed. The fold down balls wear on the hinge and the ball starts rocking back and forth. Many cosider the hydrolic? leg a luxury, believe me I would have 1 before ac,lol.They do turn sharp backing up, but try not to as it does stress the neck. Last thing, extra height is nice, I hit my head more than once in my upper bedroom. It also provides shade on those hot days. :D

Yes this is Billy Smiths old Camaro. I bought it from him 2 yrs ago. Do you know Billy well? He was gonna build a 7/8 scale 57 chebby. Dont know if he ever got it done.

Anyone have any experience pulling a 46 or 48 living quarters trailer with a single wheel 3/4 or 1 ton truck? All the dealers and sales people say no prob but it looks like a lot of trailer for a single wheel to me.

My biggest concern pulling a trailer that size with a singe would be safety. If you had a blow out at 70 with a trailer that size I think you would be in Deep SH_t!

I have a 2007 Halmark 48' with living quarters and a slide out (21' living 27' for the car). I have 5020 lbs. on the truck thats full of water, golf cart, car, 4 jugs of fuel,and tools. I wouldn't with a single wheel.

I towed my 48' gooseneck with a 2001 ford 350 shortbox singal rear wheel for years never a problem. Thats with a door car a dragster and the golf cart.
